Deepika Padukone’s Denmark connection
There are rumors that Deepika Padukone is a Danish citizen and holds a Danish passport. It is true that Deepika was born in Denmark but she cannot be a Danish national.
Deepika Padukone was born on 5 January 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Her parents returned to India when she was 11 months old. Since then she has brought up in Bangalore. She visited Denmark as 10 years old together with her parents. Deepika has never been in Denmark ever since, not even for any concert or movie shooting.
I live in Copenhagen where Deepika was born. I was curious to know if she still has any ties with Copenhagen. I did my own research and found out that Deepika has no tie with Denmark. She did not visit her birthplace for curiosity.
She is not a Danish national because according to Danish law, a child can be automatically a Danish citizen at birth if the child is born in Denmark and at least one of the parents has Danish citizenship. If someone is a naturalized citizen even as a child, that citizenship can never be repealed.
Deepika Padukone was born in Denmark but neither of her parents was a Danish citizen at that time. Her father Prakash Padukone was probably coaching Badminton and mother Ujjala Padukone was working at a travel agency. They were on a job contract. I can, without doubt, say that parents were not Danish citizens.
Therefore, there is no way that the child Deepika Padukone is a Danish citizen.
There have been some rumors in tabloids that Deepika has a Danish passport. That is not simply true
